The annual Montgomery County Basic Weather Spotters Class has a new date this year.
The class will be Saturday, March 7, at 9:00am in the Beiser Auditorium in the Berry Women’s Pavilion on the main campus of Miami Valley Hospital.
As usual, advanced registration is not required to attend.
We have confirmation from Melissa Barrington, from WDTN’s Storm Team 2 and Stormcenter 7’s Nick Dunn as guest speakers after the presentation by the NWS.

The annual Simulated Emergency Test for amateur radio operators will be held on Saturday, October 4 from ~8:45am to noon. Dayton Skywarn will be participating in the exercise this year; we will be simulatng receiving flash flood and urban/small stream flooding reports on air.
All radio traffic will be prefaced with ‘Exercise Exercise’ soo everyone listening will know the traffic is not real.
We will wrap up participation in the exercise between 11:00-11:15.

If you were unable to attend the Montgomery County Spotter Training Class, you can attend one of the other trainings that will be available, either in person or online. You do not need to be a resident of the county that is hosting the training to attend as the training is geared toward the coverage area, not specific counties.
